Duties and Responsibilities:
Genetic counselors
help family members with the type of problem of having a genetic disorder, or
they counselor people who may get that. Genetic counselors:

Educate the family member and tell them what they can do
in order to be comfortable with the certain problem.

They look back on your family history to see if there
will be a genetic disorder in the family.
·
They try to help the families by letting them understand
the things they can do without it affecting their religion.
·
They get information in the problem.
·
They let people know that this problem can happen in
their family and to be aware of this happening.
Average Salary:$25,000-$55,000
Educational Requirements:
Students that
want to be a genetic counselor someday, they must take a challenging high
school course that includes science, and mathematics. A high school diploma
must be shown and need to have a strong grade in the subjects of biology,
chemistry, and behavior science.
I feel like I
would like to be a genetic counselor one day, because I like to help people
with their problems and I like to give people advice because I like to feel
like if I am changing a person’s life by the tips I give them to help the
person.
