Student Success Statement
“When obedience becomes our goal, It is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”
James E. Faust

This statement is sending me a message that says obedience should be a natural thing that comes to you. if you practice and practice being obedience, it will be easy enough to actually be obedience. Most people at school are about 50% obedience and 50% not. For example I follow the rules, but when it comes to texting during class time, I don’t take that school serious. I text during class if I want. One time I was even talking on the phone in class, having a regular conversation and that’s it. the teacher never found out and I didn’t get my phone token away, because I was wearing ear phones. The teacher thought I was talking with the person next to me. The point is, I know that is wrong. There is like no point for it to be 50%. It’s a bad habit that has to shake, and I need help. No one can change alone.

“the more obedient we are, the more freedom we have.”
Boyd K. Packer
This statement is trying to send a message that says that when parents see that you are obedient they tend to trust you more because they know that you aren’t going to do something wrong, or stupid. My mom tends to trust me just a little bit more than my older sister because I am obedient. My older sister is as well just that once in a while she gets these crazy ideas that she thinks she can do without permission.

Obedience~

the act or practice of obeying; dutiful or submissive compliance.

I wouldn’t blame them though.  I also don’t like being around blood, it gets me freaked out and I feel dirty

Harmful Effects and Consequences of Drug Abuse
·       A moment of pleasure, but a lifetime of pain
·       Taking drugs fry your brain
·       When in your own world you destroy your family and your future
·       When drugs control you, you have no self-control
·       You always have a choice
·       Drugs effect your family and loved ones
·       Drugs lie
·       Drugs are meant for you to forget about your problems
·       Letting down your family is drugs
·       It takes one puff, one pill, and one more high to cause death
·       You control your own life
·       You are never alone when you need help
·       Choosing the right

My promise to my life is to stay away from drugs because my life is too valuable to get ruined by one mistake that can haunt me forever. I can ask a drug addict if they regret anything in their life. I think they would say they regret letting drugs take control and running their life because they never thought it would have token them this far in life.

“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
Benjamin Franklin

This statement is trying to send a message that says it is best to go asleep early. I am always the first one to go to sleep early in my family. By 8:30 I’m already in bed and by the time its 9:00 I’m asleep. To be honest I don’t believe in the statement when they say “if you go to sleep early, you can wake up early.” I disagree because the time that I have gone to sleep at 12:00 or 1:00 in the morning, I wake up at 8:00 or so because o can’t sleep in. I don’t have a sleeping problem like others. I cannot go to sleep throughout the day because I hate it. the day is for people to be awake and up and out doing about. At night that is when I can sleep and even then if I go to sleep early I wake up at 8 or 9 o’clock in the morning. The latest I have ever slept in was 11:30. I think I was very tired that day.

Top 5 Heart Health Tip
1.     Try to keep a healthy diet
2.    Avoid smoking
3.    Keep an active life style
4.    Maintaining a healthy body weight
5.    Reduce your stress

Improving my health

My health diet is good. I hear that fish is very good for your health; I eat fish at least 3 times a month sometimes more. My grandma is always cooking vegetables; I eat vegetables at least 3 times a week or so. Avoid smoking is my number one. Keep an active life style is good for me because the sport I play is water polo and swim; I have practice every day except Saturday and Sunday. During the summer I am planning to swim still to keep my speed. I also want to go to the park and run maybe do some sit ups or pushups to stay fit. Maintaining a healthy body weight, I feel like that is not a problem because I workout and I do eat a lot but it is healthy foods. I am under the body weight I should be right now. For girls that are age 14/15 their weight should be about 120 through 130, my weight is about 115 or through 110. Way below average. Reducing my stress, I have learned how to deal with my stress by talking it out and saying how I feel out loud. I usually have my mom to talk about the stress that I tend to have.

I’m sure you would want to enjoy that for a very long time. only because it took you forever to be where you are that day, the only problem is you are sick and you could die any day know. “Act well your part; there all honor lies.”
Alexander Pope
This statement is trying to send a message that says lies are lies. No matter how big or small they are. Lies lead to horrible situations that can’t be fixed. The things you say can hurt people in a way no one can explain. Words are stronger than body language. Teaching your mouth not to say lies is hard, because in the world that we live in lies is a bad habit that we need to shake. For example some children think that if you lie it isn’t such a big deal. Bad habits can take over us, and soon we won’t have a choice. It will just be a natural thing to do.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles

This statement is trying to send a message that says for example, when you play a basketball game. It doesn't matter if you won, it doesn't depend on the score. It is how well you played. If you played a good game and you lost, it doesn't matter because you tried. You didn't let the other team step all over you. When you cheat and win, it makes you feel guilty. Yea at the moment you don’t think and you’re happy because of the score. That just shows you aren't committed and you don’t care whether you’re a better player or not.
